GREEN ROOFES IMPROVE THE ECOLOGICAL FUNCTIONING OF CITIES.

CHECK WHY IT IS WORTH AND WHAT SOLUTIONS YOU HAVE AT YOUR FINGERTIPS.

Along with the dynamic urban development, we are increasingly building new houses, housing estates and offices in green areas, which until recently were our “lungs”. Where there were just fields and forests not so long ago, new buildings are currently being built. Fortunately, today’s technology allows for the recreation of natural resources, by setting up oases of greenery on newly built objects on the roofs of buildings or the so-called garage slabs, creating thus green places of the natural environment again.

EXTENSIVE GREEN ROOFS

The most popular type of a green roof commonly used as the so-called maintenance-free greenery on garage slabs or terraces in residential and industrial construction. The extensive roof is characterized by lower vegetation with a low water demand. In the case of such roofs, an important element is the appropriate selection of a vegetation and drainage layer, which allows, thanks to its accumulation abilities, for providing plants with adequate water resources.

INTENSIVE GREEN ROOFS

In intensive green roofs, an important factor, apart from effective drainage of water surplus, is also its accumulation in a properly selected part. This water resource is used for optimal plant vegetation during periodic rainfall shortages.

Drainage layers of terraces and parking lots on flat roofs

Walking paths, roads and terrace surfaces made of paving slabs or paving stones are particularly exposed to the impact of changing weather conditions, in particular water and temperature changes.
In road layers, quick drainage is the key, and not the possibility of its accumulation. Therefore, in these areas we recommend the use of properly selected drainage mats from the Greenfond Drain selection depending on the intended loads.
